Our Mission in a Nutshell
URURIMI is a language services agency that was founded in 2016 in Guadeloupe —French Caribbean— by Sally Stainier, PhD.
We specialize in translation and interpreting —now extending to equipment rentals and turnkey technical solutions— but are also active on the education, writing and research fronts. Our goal is to leverage our cultural and sectoral insights to bridge the gap between linguistic expertise and everyday communication needs.
You probably have wondered how to pronounce our company name (oo-roo-ree-mee) and why on earth we would pick such a tricky one? Well, precisely because it means "language" —in Kinyarwanda— and goes to show that communication is a deliberate effort fueled by open-mindedness, adaptation, experience, listening and genuine curiosity.
We strive to infuse these values with the blend of professionalism, anticipation, security and agility required to provide high quality services to our Clients and beneficiaries —across the board of private, public and civil interests; beyond the myriad borders still hampering cooperation and growth, be it at an individual, organizational or institutional level.
And that's what we mean by "Translating your Vision": getting your message across is one thing; amplifying your voice is ours.
The Team
Initially launched as a solo venture, URURIMI has built a network of in-house talents and freelance collaborators that include professional linguists, advertising firms, policy consultants, creative agencies, sound and video engineers and producers —which allows us to offer a comprehensive range of services and solutions tailored to each project.
The company was always envisioned as a platform and facilitator for bold professionals and upcoming talents looking at new or different ways to build skills and feed their passion (be it for languages, project management or graphic design).
